For over twenty years the Regent Ballroom as flourished on it's high quality of service and good reputation.  Recently they decided it was time to take their image to the next level, as well as give them an additional way to interact with current and potential clientele.  First, a new logo was developed that captured the feel of the regent.  Next an elegant, easy to navigate website was created.  Interviewing the client revealed they would like to update the site in house.  As a small business however, they did not have the budget  for a CMS.  To address t

The Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations program at the University of Illinois is a true standout among it’s peers. Did you know the average starting salary of the program is $66,126, with a 96% placement rating after graduation? Students looking for a graduate program need to know these facts, and that is what this piece does. Playing on the analogy of a journey, this flash-based piece educates prospective students about the program in a very elegant, sophisticated manner.

Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana (Wordpress)

Image:

Comprised of some of the best musicians from the University of Illinois, he Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana very well respected and skilled local orchestra.  They needed a website that would allow them to deliver news of their programs, sell tickets to their performances, as well as act as a general marketing tool.  Like most nonprofits however funding was an issue.  To meet their needs a site was developed in Wordpress - an open source solution.  By using the core blog capabilities as a content management system, then bolstering it with the appropriate plugins, a si

University of Illinois Physics Website (Photoshop)

Image:

The University of Illinois Physics department is currently trying to update their image.  Currently they are seen as the "out of date" science - the science of the the 19th century.  They know that they are so much more than that.  Physics is young, cutting edge, and extremely energetic. As part of a major overhaul this design is the first step in that direction. For this project a photoshop comp was developed, then handed off to an ASP programmer for implementation.

Applied Pavement (Adobe Contribute)

Image:

When approached with the opportunity to redesign the Applied Pavement website, there were a couple key parameters. First, the site must both showcase the pavement work of the company, but also appear "green" as the company is very passionate about this. Secondly, it must work with Adobe Contribute.

Kofusion - Website (Wordpress)

Image:

Kofusion is one of Champaign's hippest places to have a meal, and they needed a site that would reflect it. In addition, they would have to be able to update the menus without a knowledge of HTML. To solve this challenge, a site was built using Wordpress as it's backbone. Combined with a design that was as cool as Kofusion itself, the new site not only met it's requirements, but exceeded them.

Lincoln Square Village (Dreamweaver)

Image:

Lincoln Square has been undergoing a transformation. Returning to it's roots as a vibrant centerpiece of the community, it needed a website that would reflect it. When approaching the site redesign, it was important to capture the community feel of the space, as well as act as a marketing tool for the businesses residing within it. Finally, it would need to be easily updated in-house. A design was put in place that reflected the airy openness of the space, and captured the community that is Urbana. Finally it was designed using Dreamweaver templates to allow for easy updating.

UIC Pharmacy Website (HTML Handoff)

Image:

The University of Chicago needed a new website. No Problem. Oh yeah, there are 14 units under it. No Sweat. They all want to be unique. HEY! No big deal… right? But they still need to be unified. Er, um… Oh, one more tiny detail; they all need to tie into an existing 3rd party proprietary backend. This was the challenge posed by the UIC Pharmacy department. Before any design or coding was started, client interviews and careful planning was done. The end result was a site that met and exceeded all of these parameters

Incoming Student Flash Ecard (Flash)

Image:

This was a Flash-based ecard sent to incoming freshmen to the University of Illinois to showcase the services that Campus Information Technologies and Educational Services (CITES) has to offer and where to go for further information. This card is part of an overall branding effort aimed at appealing to incoming freshmen. The look which was established as a result was also applied to printed pieces as well, such as a mailer and even an 8”X8” display.

Materials Research Laboratory (Dreamweaver)

Image:

As part of an overall branding effort, the Materials Research Laboratory needed a website at the same caliber as the research they produced. The most important parameter was that it could be maintained in-house. A “system“ vs. a completed website was delivered: Dreamweaver templates, stylesheets, a set of mastheads along with documented Photoshop source files, and sample pages. This look is now being carried into other products which will be showcased on this page in the near future.
